My mom is now in the same healthcare facility where my dad spent his final months. She was there before in 2015 after her knee replacement. It was so surreal going back there today. I spent so much time there, visiting my dad as we hung out in the atrium with the bunny hutch. I reminded my mom of the hutch but she’s been under such stress that she couldn’t remember it. Maybe we’ll visit it soon. I was going to check it out today but I just couldn’t.

I’m so grateful that my dad was able to save enough that we can support my mom relatively comfortably and not be too worried about the astronomical medical and health care bills we’re facing now. He worked so hard to escape the blue collar world and get us to the next level financially.

I've been thinking about my Dad a lot recently. Mostly how I wish he could see the new house.

My anecdotal evidence says otherwise, but I’m glad that your mileage varies by quite a lot.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

Yesterday was my dad’s birthday. I should’ve called my mom but was too immersed in OSL ( http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomFor...9#pid33989) which was a good escape, a big plunge into the rm dimension, a therapeutic diversion.
Been thinking about him all week. He worked so hard all his life and was able to provide for my mom who’s dealing with astronomical healthcare bills but is still fairly comfortable financially AND helping us out Tara thru college. We had a tough year. House repairs cost a fortune after we had already shot our budget in Europe and then we didn’t get financial aid. My father was amazing. I’m so grateful and sad he didn’t get to enjoy the fruits of his labor as much as he planned. But he provided so well for us and of that I know he’d be proud.

I remember Jerry's passing quite clearly. It was KB who delivered the news via an early morning phone call. This asshole that I used to work with called me right after with the news, and I was so grateful that KB had reached me first.
My father's passing is blurry. I have to recheck this thread to remember the details. Perhaps because it was in slow motion, while Jerry was a blindsiding shock.
