Fire on the mountain!
#61
IqAir shows Mountain View at 105 (Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups).

Fortunately, we only have to put up with it until we die of heatstroke.

We're at 105 air quality here too. 101 degrees.

purpleair has us just over 200. The haze is getting thick.

Ah, the air is so chunky. Although the moon this morning was white and I could see Venus. But it was still a pain to breathe during the dog walk. When I went to bed, the creek fire was at 0% containment and 120,000 acres. All the message boards are full of offers to help with livestock.

Skies were that smoky orange tint this morning. Can't smell any smoke but my eyes are burning. IQAir = 57 but as we've learned, it's horribly inaccurate if there are microclimates like here.

Right now iqair has Mountain View at 122.  Oddly muggy, no oxygen, or is that just me?

Can't complain.  I see that Eugene OR is currently 515 (hazardous).

They closed I-5 at the border to Oregon because of the fires.

I have friends in Eugene and their facebook photos are nightmarish, like what we saw in the Cruz a few weeks ago.

I noticed more ash on my car.  I don't see it falling like last time, but it's definitely falling. It's much finer.

Yup, ash on my bike. Ditto on Oregon friends. Not good.

That sky. So apocalyptic.

It's high tho. 37 in the Cruz. 66 in Svale.

Dark like old blood. Definitely some Old Testament stuff today.

They put the two relatively big towns near me, Oakhurst and Coarsegold, on alert to evacuate. They are both east and south of me. Winds blowing towards me.

That sounds even more ominous than the sky.
