What a relief.
And to think you moved up there to get away from the HelLA smog...

More so to get away from the people. Air was usually pretty good up on the hill.
But yes Ironic to have been battling smoke for two years now.

Who's brilliant idea was it to do a controlled burn when we're having a mini-heat wave? This is kinda near Mt.Madonna, Tara's HS...

Didn't they just have a fire up there?

The last fire that threatened Mt Mad was 5-6 years ago.
The Mt Mad Center has been evacuated. What pisses me off is this began as a controlled burn. The people I charged of that (and I’m not being punny here) must be fired.

Estrada is now 10% contained. No further evacs.
I saw some rumors of another fire in pogonip (near UCSC) but I think that was actually an arson report a few weeks ago.

Estrada Fire is now 35% contained and the evac has been refused to a warning.
There were two other fires. There was one in pogonip that took out a few acres, allegedly started by a campfire, possibly from homeless. There was another one by Ariana Grande which is a short walk from our bungalow. That was a small brush fire and arson is suspected. 80% chance of rain around sunset. Hopeful that it’ll dampen these fires. And not to be petty but hope it washes our cars.

That fire is actually a good thing. It's a controlled burn out at Grupp Ranch. They do it about this time every year to practice which is why I asked my MountainFire FB group before freaking out. They also seemed to schedule it for the hottest day of the year (so far). It will be a hundred degrees out there.

Welcome to Fire Season 2022!
There is currently a 80 acre wildfire burning near the Mariposa Grove of Yosemite National Park. On the plus side one of the Facebook groups alerted me to a website that is a compilation of all the Sierra Foothills webcams that look for fires. I think some of them are hosted by PG&E.

How's it looking, G-Man?
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
The fire is about 40 miles north of me near Mariposa. I don't think they have any containment at this point. It's already at 5000 acres. I'm fine here at the Lair. It is quite the spectacle from the deck.
We looked at a couple of houses in this area.
