Woohoo! We were spared the power shutoff. Although not everyone in the area was. We drove to Oakhurst this morning to do our grocery shopping. We usually do this chore on Saturday, which we did, but we didn't get any frozen foods or perishables to having them spoil once our power went out. We did the perishable run this morning. The power was off in Oakhurst. With one exception. The power was on in the grocery story. i guess they have a back-up generator to keep their refrigerators going.

You don't have a back up generator? I thought everyone in the boonies had those... right next to their shotgun and bear traps...

The smoke has returned. Our AQI was in the 170s yesterday and it is at 166 this morning. The fire is about 70% contained. I'm hoping the chance of rain and snow this weekend will help.

The Dixie fire continues to gulp up real estate. I just read that South Lake Tahoe is now under evacuation orders. The only way to evacuate is through Nevada.
