This film sat on the kitchen table for two months. I think it came in before I went to Ireland. The conjunction of will to see it and opportunity finally came through yesterday. I knew it was going to be a downer and it was.
My big question to take away from the film was what are we supposed to learn? Are the Germans unable to learn from their past. Hannah had a chance to save the Jews in that Church but didn't. Voldemort had a chance to save Hannah, but didn't. Is it better to just live with the guilt and have it ruin your life than to do the right thing? I need the cliff notes. And why did Hannah want to have an affair with a 15 year old?
