Devs (Hulu 2020)
#1
Saw this on one of those "things to stream" lists and gave it a try, thinking it was a mystery or thriller. It was sort of, but also kind of about quantum physics, like somebody finally heard about the Everett-Wheeler hypothesis and thought they had to work that into a show. The plot was full of holes and the acting was weak. The protagonist lived somewhere in San Francisco where no one ever parks in front of your building, so you can pull right up. I saw it throough to the end, which made no sense. The whole thing made no sense.

Not recommended.

However, they used a great song from the Jan Garbarek/Hilliard Ensemble album Officium, which I skipped when it came out because the idea of mixing a jazz saxophonist with Medieval chant seemed ridiculous to me. It was not. I missed some pleasure because of my preconceived notion.
