Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
#3
Binged.  I enjoyed that immensely.  Not that it was Shakespeare or anything, but as a park-the-brain-outside escape for the Halloween season.  It was highly derivative - the 'cunning' was the 'shining', the Cain grave was the pet sematary, and I was disappointed that there was no sword despite being promised one.  Nevertheless it was diverting and I liked the characters in that slightly CW sort of way, particularly Sabrina (in the end) and Wardwell (should've seen that mcguffin and was delighted that I didn't as it was quite satisfactory).  I'll tune into the xmas special and S2, assuming those pesky satanists don't bring production to a halt with their lawsuit (just give them cameos - they'd love the attention).

I actually read Lavey's Satanic Bible back in high school.  I even flipped a cross pendant upside down, one that I earned in church choir as a wee tot (srsly).  I was almost a satanist, borderline you might say, until I discovered Gnosticism, which is what Lavey was really after I think.  And being Buddhist now, I can relate to being part of an ancient yet obscure religion (obscure here in the US).  So it worked for me.

I really wish I had taken a selfie with Anton when he came into AFS.  I sold him one of our cheap shamshirs (those flimsy kastanes that the belly dancers liked) and one of those Kolombatovich skull pommel snake blade daggers (I got one of those myself).  He was with his daughter, who took over the church after he passed.  I thought he looked familiar and then he handed me a CofS check and I said "I thought I recognized you".  He grinned back, seemingly flattered.  I told him I read his book and he was very polite in that satanic sort of way.  But that was long before selfies - some three decades ago maybe.
