Reminds me a bit of the quest for health insurance for Lady Cranefly and me..
First Blue Cross turned us down for reasons I won't go into. Only then I received notification that I was accepted (but not the Lady) and that they would be drawing money out of my account on a certain date. But this date was a week in the past, and yep, they'd yanked the money out well before even telling me they would cover me.
Then a week later I got notification that my application had been rejected.
But of course I'd been accepted.
Eventually, after providing more info, Lady Cranefly also got accepted, except the letter was very confusing about this.
Anyway, the one thing they were very consistent about was draining money from my account from the start of May onward -- even before notifying me of acceptance.
Then in mid-June we finally got our official cards -- which give a start date of July 1. So Lady Cranefly called them up, explained the whole mess, and the lady apologized and said new cards would be issued with the correct start date of early May.
Then a few days ago I received a nasty letter demanding immediate payment of a large sum of money, or our policy would be canceled. It turns out that the lady not only corrected our cards, but back-billed us to early May -- even though Lady Cranefly wasn't covered back then and I'd already been getting my account tapped monthly.
So Lady Cranefly called them again, explained things, and the guy said gotcha, just ignore that bill.
Right. And we put a man on the moon.
I'm so angry I could fake a medical emergency.
Except with a 2500 deductible, it would hurt us a lot more than them.
