I have a spot of work, then I’m headed over to 5 Branches University to shoot some sort of interview video (I’m the interviewee not the interviewer) and then I’m up to BGC for Sara Bareilles who I’ve never seen before: it’s Rocktober at Rock Med and I’ve been getting calls to come out because staffing is low (we have a large student volunteer base that disappears in October because they’re back at school). I was free tonight so I figured I’d volunteer to get some brownie points and Sara was the mellowist choice.

I got my flu & covid shots on Monday. It was rough for my morning meeting yesterday because I was feeling achy and had a headache, plus my shoulder was very sore. The aches faded by lunch, but my shoulder wouldn't let me sleep on that side last night. It's better today. 

We might go to a movie in lieu of this probably rainy day.

I found a dollar and a dime outside the Art building as I was going in this morning, so it was a good day. Had some spare time in the afternoon so scanned some things in my sketchbook.

Our website was restored this morning but it made me lose 24 hours of sales and some of the auxiliary functions are still offline. Then today, we crashed my admin access testing something that was a dumb test but the boss was fixated on it. That messes up my work flow for today and tomorrow. Bother. 

Pre-merc rumblings? That's what my hippie cosmology is going to blame it on...

Was that due to the latest PHP security issue? I heard about it on PBS New Hour yesterday. I wonder how many new bots the 4rum will get...

Yes exactly. We never got attacked but my boss overreacted quickly and shut everything down. Some of it is still down. Bother.

I would guess that the hosting company jumped on the fix to avoid trouble.

It’s far beyond that. It’s been dubbed Black October - a global cybersecurity issue that has shut down several government sites. I guess I shouldn’t whine so much, because it was just an inconvenience for me that cost me a day plus of work doing work arounds and recoveries. 

I hoped to get some writing done today but I burnt out after the last crisis.
