Fruit Orchard Questions
#1
What's up with the new guy running the Cupertino's favorite orchard? I've never heard of him. Granted, I've never heard of most of the people working there.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

He's been the lead HW guy for ages. I've been speculating that this change would come in the next few years and thought, of all the possible candidates, he'd be really great. The announcement caught me by surprise, but I'm looking forward to what happens next.

So...they've decided to let employees be Willy Wonka and take visitors into the ring...but only on certain dates, only by invite, and party of 4 max. I got an invite and manage to secure a slot for Sunday, June 28th at 2pm. If any of you doomers want to peek behind the curtain, let me know...it's a rare opportunity and when they erase your memory at the end, it won't hurt a bit (or at least you won't remember the pain, which is just as good).

These are the dates: June 27, 28 and July 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26 — from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Many dates are already full, but I might be able to change it.

Sounds cool. I'm up for it if I'm available. Let me know when you have a firm date.

Thanks for the offer. D00M in the ring sounds epic.

I think I can make that as well. We're in Tahoe that week but I think coming back Friday.

Likewise. Thanks for the invite. Sounds way cool.
How long will this go approximately?
And do we get a free iPad?

I'm not sure if it's open ended (I don't think there are official tours or anything), or if they whisk you into the memory wiper after 2 hours.

I'm also doubting there will be swag. You know what an air guitar is? you might get something like that...

Following up on this. What's the deal?

It's all on me to be your guide. Where would you all like to meet up? We could meet at the Visitor Center on Tasman. The public parking garage is below that building and is free.

Or, we could meet at DM's mom's house as that is not all that far and then carpool over in one vehicle (or even walk).

The visitor center has a few interesting things to look at (AR model of the ring), and is not a bad place to meet up if that's what we decide.

I have no idea how many people are coming to this event. Our check-in is at 2pm.
