The Brutalist

3+ hours. I feel cheated. Lazlo is an architect that emigrates from Hungary. Held in camps during the war, he struggles with both being a foreigner and a Jew in post-war America. He's an Howard Roark-ish character, but the story doesn't do a great job IMHO. Acting was good, but the story just meanders with unexpected jumps in time. Only at the very end, with a retrospective of Laszlo's work do they give some insight about the passion put into the project that takes the majority of the film.

Watch on 2x speed if you can...or skip to the end.

This might be in one of my queues. Sometimes I place stuff in my queues that I'm never going to watch but think I should. I won't.

After it won some Oscars, I had the thought to watch it, too. Now, I can live without it.

Likewise.

But I do love brutalist architecture. That also drew me to this. Still might watch it someday.

Prolly not, tho.
