I'm more broken than you
I've never liked you.

You seem to be dealing with the shoulder pain very well. Let's add some neuropathic foot pain to see what you are really made of. And yes, sleep is completely off the table.

After the horror stories from Ken, my sister and others about rehab, I had a bit of trepidation about my first rehab check-in. Surprisingly, it went really well with no ill effects. The minimum range of motion is supposed to be 90º and I was able to get to 135º. My shoulder wasn't frozen.

To be fair, this is kind of the pre-rehab rehab. We won't do any conditioning and strength training for another two weeks or so. This was basically to make sure my shoulder wasn't locked. And it wasn't.

Woo-hoo! I was able to sleep in my own bed for the first time in two weeks for about an hour this morning without pain in the shoulder.

Sigh. The Shoulder Gods have made me pay for my hubris.

For the first time in weeks, I went to bed in my bed. And it worked until midnight, when it didn't. My shoulder had enough. I retreated to the couch where I had enough forethought to have the blankets ready. But my shoulder was very cranky and kept alerting me to the fact it was cranky. So, good morning.

Ive been forcing the issue of sleeping in the bed so I can sleep in the bed when I overnight at Lynch Castle. It has been a spectacular failure. I haven't made it to 11. And since there is a bed switch, I spend some quality restless time on the couch trying to get comfortable and back to sleep.

I've been in the bed since the trip to the castle. Turns out if you take out the giant foam pad on the sling, your shoulder doesn't get twisted out of shape. I've done that. I've been sleeping.

I've had two rehab appointments. Both assistants have remarked on how good my range of motion is. I get out of the sling officially next Tuesday, though I have been taking it off for my walks. Once the sling is off, the more serious rehab begins
