I'm more broken than you
I suppose.

But I was going to put money on you with all your falling.

Any updates on Scapino? You're the closest to him. You've probably seen him nekkid the most of any of us.

I am serious about that D00M zoom for him. That could serve to cheer him up.

He is back to posting on our Wordle FB group, so at least he's awake.

Doom Zoom sounds good. I'll message him to see how he is getting along.

My mom broke her spine repeatedly from falls. It’s how she got in wheelchair bound.

Will do. He seemed happy about the call. Also very proud that everyone is coming to see his groin catheter insertion site.

He really likes you, Gman. We texted yesterday and he did not mention his groin at all

Sleep injuries anyone?

Day before yesterday, I woke slightly in the early morning light. I had been sleeping on my stomach with my feet off the end of the bed. I went to adjust my position and the calf of one of my legs tightened into blinding, excruciating pain. I was full awake and unable to do anything until it loosened up again. Once I could straighten my leg, I found I couldn't put any weight on it. It took quite awhile to calm it down. I sat in bed with a heating pad on it and eventually went back to sleep in time for the dogs to tell me it was time to get up and let them out.

Ouch.

I’ve had some issues with calf cramps, which sounds like a minor version of what you experienced. They got bad when I was training hard in my youth. I was taking a lot of training supplements which I never really mastered. They got bad again when I was prediabetic. Now I get occasional foot cramps when kneeling in my practices - seiza in iaido & virasana in yoga. More attention to my potassium and electrolyte intake has helped in the past. Hopefully it’s not something more severe. Has this ever happened before?

Occasionally, but rarely. I gave blood a week ago and got an email from them saying I'm pre-diabetic. I already knew this, but forwarded it to my GP. He noted that the A1C they had in the email was actually a little lower than when I saw him last (in June?)...so yay!

I will occasionally have calf cramps at night. Usually my left leg. I wake up and flex my foot, and my calf seizes up. Actually the calf itself is not as tight as the muscle right on the outside edge. Looking that up, it seems to be the Fibularis Longus. My foot sometimes cramps at the same time. It eases up after a minute or so. It hasn't happened in a while.

I'm pre-diabetic.

Well alright then. Soon you can join the blood sugar fun thread because it could use some fresh blood.
