Wow, that's generous. Your publisher is cool.

They started at 10 and it was suggested to me I should ask for more. I did.

But, yes. My publisher is cool.

10 is industry standard. Or at least it used to be…

Will they be promoting this or does that fall mostly on you?

I think they will be doing some promotion. They had me fill out a form about places I might visit in case I could do a book signing at a local bookstore. I mentioned Ireland but the book might not be out then. They asked me to set up Social Accounts to help promote the book. I'll do more with them once I have a publish date.

But we shall see. The next event is the final proof after it has been typeset. I will also have to go over the index once the pages are locked in. I should hear from Casemate again this week, I think.

This is typical now. We (YMAA) do the same. Then there's getting reviews, both professional and reader's...

Ah, readers. The only one I could think of was Myke Cole. I am also trying to get the book put on the John Scalzi 'Whatever' blog website. But again, I need the pub date which is one of the Scalzi requirements.

Amazon reviews are very powerful. We (YMAA) aim for 20 reviews per title. We have the authors provide a list of readers/reviewers. The catch is now Amazon requires reviewers to have bought their books through Amazon or on kindle. It’s trickier to provide comp readers copies now.

There’s also resources like Midwest Book Review, Goodreads, etc

There are also contest submissions - I suppose that akin to film fests. We work American Book Feet’s Best  Book Awards, Next Generation Indie Book Awards, Eric Hoffer Awards, Forward Indie Awards

What about working the vets angle? Lots of vets organizations across the country as well as WWII buffs (both aircraft, and just general military history)

Look what popped up on Amazon! Although I was told the pub date was some time in May. I will still take it.

So...you have both a book and a documentary film on Amazon?
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

Two documentaries, but yes.

Nice!

The presale is good for advanced promos & endorsements.

There has already been two pre-sales and a promise of a third. Yes, they are all family. What are you getting at?

To be a completist, I checked Amazon UK. The book is coming out there a month earlier.
