Jurassic Park: Dominion
#1
I haven’t kept up with this franchise.
I missed Fallen Kingdom http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomFor...p?tid=4727 and  when it went from Park to World http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomFor...p?tid=3567 I surmised that Dinos are everywhere now. Also that this film reunites the original cast and the next gen cast. As long as it has Jeff Goldblum…

This film is a mess, just a lot of excuses to be chased by dinos. There’s weaponized dinos in the beginning with an all too short cameo from Omar Sy (maybe he was in the franchise earlier - I got confused about who might be new). Then there’s a story about prehistoric locusts, an experiment that escaped the lab and is threatening the world’s food supply. Then there’s the evil gmo lab where all the dinos live, some snowbound Italian dolemite mountains. Aren’t dinos cold blooded? And there’s a cloned girl.

Anyway there’s a lot of running about being chased by dinos and some international settings at first, then it’s all about the mountain lab. I don’t get why Pratt is the dino whisperer and can calm them by holding his hand up.

I sound like Greg. I thought this film would be vastly improved if I were sitting next to Greg and listening to him question the writing every 5-10 seconds. All I wanted to see were dinos & Goldblum funny quips. I guess that all I got.

Not D00M recommended.

Of course, I'm the wrong person to review this, Too much room for my hate to burst its banks and roam free. Of course it was dumb beyond belief. Of course there was a copious use of "How fortuitous". Of course I asked a million logic question (How can a cold blooded animal exist in the snow?)

Did I enjoy it. Kind of. There were a bunch of scenes where I just went wow or chuckled at some inventive bit of business. There were some very fun moments amidst the stupidity.

Can I recommend it? You kind of half to be in the mood, sort of. Looking for a bad movie just to rail at.

One final barb, the chemistry between Bryce Howard and Chris Pratt is zero.

I warned you http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomFor...p?tid=7417

Wait…what? You ‘kind of’ enjoyed it? Was there a transporter glitch that made us switch bodies? That might explain the parallel left shoulder issues…

Am I supposed to read other people's threads, too? Don't I do enough around this forum without having to read other people's thoughts as well.

Enjoyed might be too strong a word.

Actually many scientists now believe that dinosaurs were neither cold-blooded nor warm-blooded, but at an intermediate point between reptiles and birds.

And it's futile to call them out about science errors, since they started out by making the velociraptors much larger than they really are, and omitting the feathers.

There were quite a few feathered dinosaurs in this edition.

I remember a program about the Stegosaurus (I think) where they were of the opinion the Stegosaurus was warm blooded and used the plates on its back to cool the blood in its body. They found channels leading to and from the plates.

Thanks for the merge. I was trying to remember how to do that.

There were too many feathery dinos. I kept wanting them to make that noise the the Flintstones’ Dino made.

I just keep hitting the pull down menus until something pops up I recognize.

I did that once but did not get a 'merge threads' option. I did get a copy option but didn't have the time (or initiative) to figure it out that way. I seem to remember it was easier before, but then everything seemed to be easier before...

It's in the Moderation Options not in the inline post moderation. I usually make the mistake of doing it in the threads area rather than in the actual posts.

Aw shoot. I see it now. I knew it was simpler. I made the exact error you describe.

I attribute it to the mind-swap-transporter-fail. Or merc in retro. Dammit there’s something else that must take the blame for my oversights.
