Sheltering in Place
Almost there. Taking a break to recharge my Makita (I just quick charged it and I didn’t quite make it). It’s all about the angling…

Fixed! Lubricated even. The drawers open and close as smooth as a baby’s bum.

Its three drawers hilt into the wall. The runner on the bottom one broke earlier this year but it was the bottom so it still functioned. The middle one broke this morning rendering the bottom two drawers nonfunctional.

It’s something that’s a simple fix except for the fact the the drawers are built into the walls so accessing the runners that needed reinforcing wasn’t easy. I couldn’t get to some angles so I had to reinforce it from the sides. That and the wood is old and dry, but I laid down some wood oil so they should be good for another century, or at least as long as we continue to rent here…

We rent. We were planning to sell Macbeth ranch and next year for a down payment on something here but the market is too weird…

Running errands during the day, now awaiting the descent of the masses on H's domicile. She is doing her annual "satirical Nativity" and open house. This year's theme is Tek-Tox, toxic masculinity and tech. Scathing as usual, but much less bloody.

Heading to Lynch Castle to celebrate Christmas with sister and mother. Celebrate isn't quite the right word.

Best of luck.

Just Christina and I here. Voyager Coffee is open this morning so we'll go get coffee. And later we'll have panettone.

991/182: Headed to my mom’s rest home after lunch to meet with Tara and celebrate. Considering going to a movie afterwards.

Happy Xmas all.

Got 7 hours sleep, an unusual occasion, and rolled out of bed a bit after 11. I made coffee, prepped breakfast. We both made a pledge to loll about in tracksuits all day. H has been in the kitchen, I've been on the couch with a book, both in our happy places. Just finished lunch at 5:00, dinner will happen around 9:00 ish.

Tonight will either be a repeat of last night (late night stroll while sipping Glühwein) or we'll visit our local for a beer.

Escape from the madhouse. Cemetery visit. Then the real reason for the visit. Drive home through the dog bowl.

That's not quite a haiku...but poetic nonetheless
