Cruz Beach Boardwalk concerts 2019

DM - I assume  you mean the top two strings as you are looking at him. Those are the lowest strings, so they have all the lowest notes. Since most bass players tend to play mostly the root notes of the chords, one could easily play mostly those strings. And if you play higher notes on those strings, they have a lot more punch than if you play them on the upper strings. But IMO most rock bass players are mediocre as far as exploring the possibilities of the instrument, even though they may keep good time and be able to play fast etc. Maybe it's because rock became completely separated from jazz, so they never heard how the bass could relate to the chord changes. Or maybe it's just the folk music amateur style kind of thing.

Yeah, totally. The nice thing about the Cruz shows is that it's really easy to get front-of-stage, so I could really see the fingering. And a lot of that fingering looked really simple.  Ain't no Lesh, that's for damn sure.

Bummer. Now things have really hit rock bottom.

Having said that, now looking for new rock bottom to jump up and bite me in the ass.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

Yeah, less of that kind of talk, lest someone overhears and obliges.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. Greg still sets me up with the best invitations like this - the faux pas kid lives!

Besides, you said it yourself:

And we're back!

Well no, not really. It's not the bandshell on Fridays. It's the Colonnade, which is much smaller, on Thursdays.

Not likely...Santa Cruz's a bit of a trek after work on a weekday night.

tg is on the other side of Mo Bay.

I live in the Cruz. When the wind was right, I could hear the bandshell concerts from our bungalow. I doubt I’ll be able to hear the Colonnade stage.
