I wonder if this is based on Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (The Man Who Feels No Pain)

I like Quaid. He voices Boimler in ST: LD
I also like that this uses a Blackpink track as the soundtrack, one of my fav tunes of theirs.

This was fairly entertaining. It takes a bit to get going. The bank robbery doesn't happen until like a third into the film, and then there's a brutal tone shift that dumps major ultravi sanguineousness. Quaid is good - he'll always be Boimler to me, but he works as a lovable schlub in absurd circumstances. There was a fine mcguffin that I didn't see coming but should have in 20/20 hindsight. And the villain is delightfully psychotic and self centered. There was a decent lol moment, or at least some amused giggles. The booby trapped house reminded me of one of my fav guilty pleasures, the Shaw Bros flick House of Traps http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomFor...p?tid=3504

It was not like Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. Perhaps that was the initial inspiration, but this goes an entirely different place.

All in all, a decent watch, especially if you like prosthetic gore. That's not the focus of all of this, but there are a few scenes that are harsh. You could do a lot worse with that hour and fifty.

D00M recommended.

I thought I reviewed this, but apparently not. I saw this at the theater. I know Quaid only from The Boys and it felt like he was playing the same Huey-like schlub, which he seems to do well. Everything DM said...I guessed the McGuffin, but it was still ok. Lots of gratuitous "oh no Mr. Bill" action, seeing how far one can go with this "superpower".

Consumable. Big screen not required.

Perhaps you did review it. I did a search and couldn’t even get the trailer by the title. Our search engine is fallible.

I am at an open mic on the edge of Campbell/San Jose. While waiting to play, I'm perusing the month-old Campbell Press paper which has a review (they gave it a C+). TIL: Quiad is the son of Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid. The love interest was in "Prey" (which I enjoyed). And the villain is played by Jack Nicholson's son Ray...
