I'm sure this one was on the other forum (may it languish in peace), reviewed, no doubt, by you tyke builders. I don't remember those reviews so it was okay for me to see the film (Please see "Robots" reviews)

It was fine. I think it was big experiment on how to do water well. The water looked very watery. Kudos PDI. Just think were you'd be now if you started with PDI in the eighties. But I digress.

As we all know, the penguins stole the show. They had the most unique bend to their character. As for the leads, well I've never really liked zoos, so when they start rhapsodizing about how cool it was to be in the Zoo, I figured some massive brain washing operation was underway. I guess I related to the Chris Rocks Zebra the most, then. Ah, the need to be in the wild. Well, in the Wild with wireless internet connection and my laptop.

Funniest line came from the Monkeys and it involved Tom Wolfe

Saw it last night. Enjoyable! I liked the production design and the stylistic animation. Alex the lion zipping around doing fast, almost Bugs Bunny fast, takes, was refreshing when compared to the comparatively plodding Shrek bleck. The king lemur was a fun character; wacky, goofy, well done all around.

Enjoyed it much more than I expected to. Which is fortunate, since I might be having lunch with the director on friday.

...and the old forum is offline? oh what oh what did i say? i think i liked the hallucination sequence where everyone turns into steaks. i could totally relate to that.

there's a holiday short of the penguins - i think it was running with charlie and the chocolate factory. i loved the penguins too, but the short was just more of the same.

It's getting a new server but the change over is taking slightly longer than expected.

They actually added the penguin short to the DVD. Plus it was on the beginning of another film we just saw and I can't remember the name. Crap. Was it Wallis and Grommit.

Ah, Penguins. My favorite part of the behind the scenes was learning the Director does the voice of the lead penguin. Is this the new trend?

Borat-as-mad-lemur-king meets Lion King. Borat/lemur steals every freakin' scene - best thing in the movie. The penguins are a little played out, as is the "I like to move it, move it" song. Will.I.Am even does a lackluster remix of that track. He also plays a playa hippo to decent effect. It's fast and furious, park-yo-brain-outside goofiness - awesome water effects - a lot of quick references to other kid flicks (extra points to anyone else who catches the Aquamarine ref). I liked it better than part 1. T liked it too, but I think she enjoyed Garfield, Tale of two Kitties on TV the night before even more, so her vote this weekend is negligible.
