A Chinese action comedy but I’m not 100% certain anyone told Milla. She plays it straight almost to the end, and is her usual dynamic self with a pinch of Chinese action choreo. The rest is an absurdly silly slapstick comedy replete with lots of bad CGI and dumb sight gags. It never made me laugh, or even smile, maybe a smirk or two. It reminded me of those goofy HK action comedies of the 90s but with a bigger scale and better effects. There’s some respectful nods to modern day tech and its effects on society and then some heavy sacrifice - a cute gal gets her legs cut off dramatically at fhr end of a chase scene and a major character dies. It had a few novel turns but nothing mind blowing, except maybe the shin amputation - didn’t see that one coming at all. Overall it fails to sustain entertainment value - the lead is an annoying narcissist wannabe web influencer, who eventually steps up. The female sidekick cop is cute when she kicks ass.
