The Woman down the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
#1
Well, that's a bullshit title to remember. Kirsten Bell stars as the suffering woman. Her husband has left her. She spends her days drinking. The neighbors worry about her. She's abandoned her art career. It feels like I'm watching an American remake of After Life. And then a new hunky neighbor moves in across the street with a young daughter. Throughout the first episode Kirsten Bell's Anna has a very tenuous grip on reality. She sees lots of things that aren't there and has very vivid dreams. Something isn't quite right in her life and by the end of the episode we have yet to find out why.

It's good. Well done. Lots of strangeness. Lots of casseroles. No sword fights. I want to see where this show leads.

Casseroles?

Seems very Rear Window to me and as much as I like Kristen, Window is an untouchable masterpiece.

Yes, it does have the Windows vibe. But this is it's own thing. Kristen does leave the house and interact with people.

The reviews for the show have been puzzling. But Kristen does a good job.

Well, we know where the title leads ... though it takes a while.

Tempted.  It's hard to resist prepositional phrases.

Ep02 wasn't as strong as Ep01. And there is a big scene of dumb in the center of the show that took me out of the show. But if you like Kristen Bell in lingerie, this could be the show for you. She also has a dumb phobia that leads to a dumb result. And the reason for the phobia is kind of dumb. There is dumb creep in this show. But I'm still intrigued enough to watch the next episode mainly because the main mystery has been revealed in the guise of a bitchy neighbor.

There are still things going on that could be hallucinations and I'm waiting for that to be cleared up.

Ep03 The episode where no one believes that Kirsten saw a murder although she is adamant she did. But there are a few subtle clues on her side. I'm really waiting for the show runners to tell me if one guy is an illusion or not. He's been doing the same simple task for three episodes now. I also just came up with another theory that I will hold to the end because it makes the whole show more logical but still another overused trope.

Oddly, Kristen Bell had to apologize to her fans for not warning them of the graphic sex scene she participates in this show. And by graphic, she means she is in lingerie and has sex.
