Stay Close (2021)

Another Halen Coben story comes to Netflix. Set in a resort town in England, it's starts with a disappearance which leads to hidden identities and a 17 year unsolved missing person's case. Ep01 is all sorts of twisty.

Now Coben is a jersey boy, but New Jersey and his books are set there or in New York.  But it's interesting that all his Netflix Shows are set in England. I'm curious why only British Producers are picking up his shows. He has sold a ton of books here in the States and yet his shows, based on those same New Jersey set books, take place in England.

Coben also has a very distinct formula. Someone always goes missing in the past and the consequences of that mystery impinges on the present.

Ep02 They answer a lot of questions but that just leads to more questions. Eddie Izzard finally gets to do some stuff. There are a lot of times in the show where you go well that's just stupid but I will continue to watch.

We burned through the last three episodes last night because tQ and I had a tremendous need to know if our theories were right. And they were. Although a lot of it is ludicrous, the show was ultimately satisfying. Lots of twists and turns. And I constantly wondered if they made the show just to keep showing this deeply odd statue.

I figure if you are watching police procedurals on Masterpiece, you would enjoy this.
