Cowboy Bebop fans won’t have to wait much longer to revisit the world of Spike, Faye, Jet and Edward. Netflix will release its live-action adaptation of the legendary Sunrise anime this fall, the company announced during day two of its Geeked Week programming. What’s more, original series composer Yoko Kanno is writing the adaptation’s soundtrack.

I'm not sure about the live action bit but I'm looking forward to more Seatbelts music!

See you Space Cowboy.

So much good music from this show.

I've heard about this show but never seen it. I might have to check out the older episodes before this drops in November.

Likewise. It's only like two dozen eps at a half hour each. I've heard such good things about it. It's a classic anime.

I've been remiss on this one for years. I'll binge it soon. Maybe next after I finish SW: Visions.

It occurs to me the event was called TUDUM because that's the opening chords for the Netflix Splash screen.

Did everyone already guess that or know that?

TUDUM was a media event held on Friday by Netflix to announce all their upcoming shows and movies.

You know when you log on to Netflix? That's the sound you hear.

I made a few bucks off it.

There’s *sound*?

Oh, dear. I think this might explain why I like so many more movies than G-Man. I just make up the dialog.

Fair. I do the same. But it's because a lot of the stuff I watch is in other languages - Chinese, Spanish, Huttenese.

Jerry Garcia used to practice guitar by watching TV with the sound off and making his own soundtrack. Worked for him.

Starting October 21, all 26 episodes of space western action-adventure series Cowboy Bebop will be available on Netflix as the streamer has acquired the rights to the original anime. This announcement comes weeks before the live-action Cowboy Bebop series premiere.
The animated version is directed by Shinichirō Watanabe, with screenwriter Keiko Nobumoto, character designer Toshihiro Kawamoto, mechanical designer Kimitoshi Yamane, and composer Yoko Kanno. The show landed stateside on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim in 2001 and became a popular animated series known for its action, comedy, and music.

Cool! I was searching for it a few weeks ago and couldn't find it available anywhere. I figured Netflix scrubbed this in anticipation.

I've never watched this. And it's a popular one among martial peeps.

I mentioned that I wanted to see it to Tara and she raised an eyebrow. Apparently, within her younger hipper anime circles, all the Cowboy Bebop fans are assholes.
