McMillions on HBO
#1
It's a documentary about the Monopoly scandal at McDonald's back in the late 1990s. I vaguely remember the scandal and who caused it but I thought it would be fun to see the facts behind the case. Plus, it's a documentary and I'm looking for how the other half does it.

Well, if you have a lot of money, it's really impressive. Lots of great cinema shots, recreations, prolific B-Roll, and probably a crew of some sorts. The show looks great when it doesn't look like a non-stop ad for McDonald's. Every shot seems to have a logo for McDonald's in it, subtle and not so subtle.

The first episode was really good as we look at the Talahasee FBI crew that comes upon the scandal, basically one agent sees the post-it note on another agents computer about a tip about McDonald's. It was a really good episode, explaining the facts of the case and what they were up against. The even interviewed one of the dodgy winners.

But it goes downhill from there. Episodes two and three delve more into the criminals lives and what they were doing. Basically criminals are dumb and some of them are unwitting criminals who are being used by the real criminals.

Episode 3, which was just a slog, ends on a cliff hanger when I thought it was the last episode. I'm at the point where I just want them to tell me how it was done.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
