I never liked Dr. Who.
The cheesy sets nad z-grade production values never endeared themselves to me. Tom Baker could not save the cardboard sets and rubber monsters.
However, the last couple seasons KICK ASS.
I downloaded them from my usual source and can say they easily compete with STNG and DS9 for compelling Sci-Fi drama.
CGI has enabled the British to incorporayte their awesome storytelling and characterization into a visually stimulating medium. Clockwork, murderous French dolls, fat aliens that trick humanity into going to war for suposed 'weapons of mass destruction', game shows where the losers are disintegrated, it's all here.
