It's from Panna Rittikrai and Prachna Pinkaew (sp?) but it's not Baa Ram Ewe, and that's probably for good reason. This is fight porn. There's porn. Today, there's also torture porn, which I just can't stomach. There's always been fight porn but we've neglected to label it so until now.
About 30 mins of unnecessary plot prep - it's a little like Versus - a 'reality show' where fighters die and high-rollers bet. Why that took 30 mins to set up is beyond me. All the fights happen in some sort of construction site, so there's lots of weapons and stuff to get slammed into. Once the fights got going, the choreography was top notch. And there was a healthy helping of it - more than half the film is fight scenes. Some great stunts too. The first two simultaneous fights were highly entertaining: a tranny vs. a hunky hero and a crazy cyclone cage fight. It's a crew called "fight club" versus biker ninjas, including this Jason-Voorhees-like invincible axeman with a metal mask. Oh yes, there's a psycho armored car too - very Death Race 2000. The fights, sadly, are parsed with scenes of the high rollers betting, which was so superfluous. Panna has a great role as the lead of the villains, and delivers a tasty finale.
Not really DOOM material unless y'all let me speed through with the fast forward. The plot portions are bad, not good-bad, just waste-of-time-fast-forward-thru bad. The nice thing is that it's in Thai, so you can still get the story if you must, just read the subtitles faster.
All in all, BKO would have been better if it was like those porn flicks that just have the climaxes. Just string together the fight scenes. The gate to Fight Porn reads 'Abandon plot, all ye who enter here.' I mean really, why bother with the plot at this point? We just want to see a little ultravi, some real horrorshow, with our moloko plus.
