13 Assassins

Sunday, May 1st, 8:30 pm, The Castro Theatre. Haggis Killer has taken the lead on this and I'm on board, too. Who else wants in? HK will pre-purchase the tickets if you are in.

What is the movie about...?

You ask too many questions -- no movie for you!

I will not be attending.

here's our thread on it: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58339">http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/forum/s ... hp?t=58339</a><!-- m -->

This is Miike. It's getting rave reviews. I really want to see this. I referenced it on the Miike thread:
Drunk Monk Wrote:Miike just did a samurai flick. It's at the Venice film fest. I must see this.

I'd love to go but I have a prior commitment - the Spring Fair fundraiser for T's school. I have to catch kids as they come down off the zip line ride. It shouldn't go too late but I need to find out if I can make it up to the Castro by 8:30. When does HK need to know by?

One of my close kung fu brothers VODed this. We crossed paths last night and he was raving about it. He said it was over the top, which is saying a lot as he's quite into martial arts films. He hadn't put together who Miike was, but he has seen Ichi and when I connected those dots for him, a light went on.

Still not sure if I can make it - depends on if my wife books clients. Really want to go. Let me know when you need to know and I'll get a firm answer by then.

Yes, it's me. I think one of Greg's mystical left turns with the url changes caught me off guard somewhere along the line and my Doom-sensing GPS ran out of batteries at the same time. What can you do? I'm jazzed about the review you got from the friend on Assassins. It looks like a crazy classic samurai death-and-honor slash fest o' fun. And the falling building looks awesome. Can't wait.

That probably means nothing to you, HK, but it'll provide amusement for Greg & PPFY, even KB if he ever shows his face round here again.

She has a massage booked w/my wife. It's in exchange for dying my kid's hair purple. Seriously. As it stands, I can make it, but Peggy said she might want to shift to a later time and as she did a favor, my wife won't refuse her. If she shifts, I'm out. Cry

As tickets aren't expensive ($13) I'll say I'm in. If it comes out that I can't make it, I'll eat that investment. Have you bought tickets already, HK? Who else is in on this - just PPFY, HK & me? Come on ED - It's Miike, bro!

I'm heading over to buy 3 tix right about now. I'm worried they may go, so I think I'd better nab 3 at least.

I'm still not 100% sure I can make it but I'll cover that ticket if you can't find a replacement. I'll let you know for sure as soon as I know. Thanks HK!

HK, my apologies. If you can't get a taker for that ticket, I'll send you a check. Gambled and lost on that one. How much was it?

Send Peggy O and get the massage yourself; I'd much rather see a movie with her.

Wow, PPFY! Going for the pressure-close on your lunch with O-Gal. Not subtle, dude!
