Bad Boy Bubby (1993) IMDB Link
So, while you apprentices show weak Kung-Fu by viewing movies that do not challenge or threaten, I find obscure Aussie/Italian art films that make one feel like they've been slathered in Vegemite and Olive Oil.
"Bad Boy Bubby" is "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" directed by David Lynch. I'm not even sure if this movie was in color. Or if it was dubbed. It seeps into your pores and fondles your frontal lobes without your permission.
'Bubby' is an autistic man who lives with his mother. He has probably never been outside the tiny, filthy apartment. They share a bed, a table and gas mask. She gives him sponge baths. He tortures insects.
This wonderful relationship is thrown into disarray when his long-absent father returns.
I won't spoil the rest, but let's just say that Bubby goes on his own 'Big Adventure' and touches the lives of many people.
It starts out slow then achieves warp factor 8. The acting is uncomfortably brilliant.
Check it out.
