Ok DM, I know you posted about this before. I did a search and I can't find any post, so I'm creating a new one.
I just watched the DVD with my son last night. The disc was a 2-day rental from Blockbuster and the damn thing was scratched, so when it got to the "big" scene where CJ7 first appears, the player locked up. We had to skip about 10 min ahead to continue watching and by that time I think a lot had happened.
We watched it dubbed in English with no subtitles and I have to say that the dubbing was pretty bad. Going back and looking at some of the subtitles, the movie made more sense. Even so, I was wondering what the message of the movie was a lot of the time.
Definitely influenced by ET, and targeted at kids. A lot of poop humor that was not all that funny. But generally ok.
We watched the DVD features and I found it surprising that most of the boys in the cast were played by girls including the lead.
