TCM is showing old Oscar winners, so I caught this. And it's still both really ridiculous and really great. Maybe the best epic film ever. Heston's best hamming, topping even Planet of the Apes. It's even better if you've seen or read The Celluloid Closet.

In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

Heston's best movie was "Planet of the Apes". That is still a good movie. The social commentary is just as valid today.
