Twenty Eight Year Later (2024)
#1
Zombies. Blood everywhere. Mayhem. I needed a little palate cleanser after Office Romance.

Danny Boyle returns to his zombies. All of Britain is under quarantined to contain the rage virus. There are a few pockets of survivors including an island off Scotland where people are still surviving. They can cross back to the mainland via a causeway that only appears at low tide. In a test of manhood or something, young Spike and his father head to the mainland for Spike to get his first kill. Yep, things go tits up.

Later Spike returns to the mainland in the hopes of finding a doctor to help his sick mother. More tits up. They do get to meet Voldemort.

There is lots of running and screaming and bloodshed and scares and weirdness. It was fine. Kept me entertained. I really watched it so I could see Twenty Eight Years Later: The Bone Temple.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

This one was really an ode to mothers (Jodie Comer)/sons, IIRC...thought I reviewed it when I saw it at Alamo, but I guess not...

Twenty Eight Year Later: The Bone Temple

Finally, the one with Ralph Fiennes story, sort of. This film picks up right where the other one ended with Spike finding another group of people to travel the land. And as it turns out, this group is led by one of the people who started the first film in the trilogy and promptly vanished. Unfortunately for Spike, this is not a good group to hand out with Despite their prowess in killing the Zombies, they have given in to the Nihilism of their surroundings. Spike soon learns he doesn't want to be with this group but realizes he can't get away from them.

Meanwhile Fiennes is playing with one of the Alpha Zombies which leads to some amazing discoveries.

Eventually, Spike's group and Fiennes cross paths. Things go kind of crazy.

It's not your usual Zombie/horror fest. There is a lot of story going on. But there is also some big ultra-vi along the way.
