From the folks at Poppy Jaspar:

Dear Greg,
Thank you so much for sharing your film Iron Crotch  with PJIFF. Every year, we are humbled by the bravery, brilliance, and heart that filmmakers bring to our screeners. This year, the level of storytelling was truly remarkable.
Because of the strength and diversity of this year’s submissions, our programming decisions were more difficult than ever. After many months of careful review by multiple screeners, we regret to share that we were not able to program your film into the 2026 festival lineup.
This is not a reflection of the value, quality, or impact of your film. It is simply the reality of limited screening slots and a year of exceptional submissions that pushed our programming capacity to its limits.
We want you to know that your film mattered to us. Our team watched it with care, discussed it thoughtfully, and we are grateful for the trust you placed in PJIFF by submitting.
Although your film will not be part of our festival schedule, we still hope you’ll be part of the PJIFF community. We would love to offer you a complimentary pass to attend the festival, connect with filmmakers and industry from around the world, join our panels and celebrations, and experience what makes this community so special.
Additionally, PJIFF programs screenings throughout the year, and we will keep your film in consideration for these opportunities whenever possible. Our commitment to supporting filmmakers extends beyond the festival week, and we want to continue uplifting your work in any way we can.
Thank you again for your artistry, your courage, and your voice. Please stay in touch and consider sharing future projects with us. You are always welcome here.
Best wishes,
Mattie

Can you tell how many minutes they actually watched?

It seemed like Morgan Hill only watched about 45 minutes.

There is already an "Iron Crotch" thread; how did you miss it? The moderator should merge the threads. Maybe file it all under Doom Moon.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

Well, one thread is for me to bitch about Iron Crotch. The other thread is for me to keep a tidy account of the festivals. I figure if I get enough Iron Crotch threads I can weave a pity blanket.

No, need to wait until Monday for Sundance's announcement. Not surprised by their decision, but still disappointed.

Quote:Dear Greg,

On behalf of the Sundance Film Festival Programming team, I’d like to thank you for submitting your film to us for 2026 Festival consideration. We received 16,208 submissions this season, and with less than 160 total slots within the program, many tough decisions were made throughout a very carefully deliberated selection process. Unfortunately, we were unable to find a space for your project at the Festival this year.
We are incredibly thankful to have the opportunity to view the latest in independent film from the global artistic community, and we wish you the best of luck with your project from here on out. We look forward to considering any work you have to submit in the future.
With best regards,
Eugene Hernandez
Director, Sundance Film Festival

There is, of course, an exclusive Gene club, just like I imagine there’s an exclusive Greg & tg club. But I don’t hav out with them that much. They don’t matter enough.

Its a euphemism for masterbating, isn't it?

Isn't every euphemism about masterbating?

Actually, there are quite a few euphemisms for doin' the nasty and pooping (which isn't doin' the nasty)
