Galactus in IMAX is AWESOME!

Another feel-good throwback like Superman, but instead of Superdog, it's the 'First Steps' of a fantastic baby. It's an alternate universe so it doesn't involve the MCU at all until the end-of-credits scene. It's retro-futurism - that vision of sci-fi we had in the 70s - lots of rounded plastic, reel-2-reel tapes and gold lps, retro TV ads and variety shows - Jetson vibes. That worked well. It felt fresh. Also like Superman, it doesn't dwell on the creation story. It's mentioned quickly - set up for the completely uninitiated - but we know how they got their powers. We don't need to spend time there. There's funny banter, superheroes doing mundane things in between outrageous feats. Like Superman, this becomes a kaiju movie with Galactus - and here, F4 wins. But that's no Krypto. The Silver Surfer is hawt enough to keep looking for chrome nipples. Adn Cobra Kai's Stingray as the Moleman King was perfect casting.

Patrick said it's got the shortest running time for any MCU film. It keeps a steady pace and a positive attitude - good escapist fair - one of the best MCU flicks in years.

D00M recommended, especially if you spring for IMAX.

The more I ruminate over this, the more I endorse IMAX if you can. Galactus in IMAX is just so awesome. Don't cheat yourself; treat yourself. And sit close so you get all that Galactus goodness as far as you can see. We sat in the third row.

I went to alamo and saw a matinee this afternoon…enjoyed it. FF was my comic when I was a kid. I dont know why, but I never was into reading any of the rest.

Galacticus looks like a cross between some Japanese giant robot that would figHt Ultraman, The Golem, and some Aztec/Mayan decorations thrown in… he was pretty awesome. He didnt pick up a bus a thro it back down, but you feel the scale even in not-IMAX.

Mr Fantastic didnt do much plastic stretch stuff until the final battle. He was mostly thinking and worrying. I think Pedro was under used a little…I also didnt particularly like how they did The Thing’s look. I think previous FF installments might have got that better.

All in all, enjoyable if you like FF
