[url=https://www.startrek.com/series/star-trek-lower-decks]Star Trek: Lower Decks will conclude later this fall with its fifth and final season.
Series creator Mike McMahan and executive producer Alex Kurtzman confirm the news in a touching tribute to the series and its fans:
To the fans,
We wanted to let you know that this fall will be the fifth and final season of Star Trek: Lower Decks. While five seasons of any series these days seems like a miracle, it’s no exaggeration to say that every second we've spent making this show has been a dream come true. Our incredible cast, crew and artists have given you everything they have because they love the characters they play, they love the world we've built, and more than anything we all love love love Star Trek. We’re excited for the world to see our hilarious fifth season which we're working on right now, and the good news is that all previous episodes will remain on Paramount+ so there is still so much to look forward to as we celebrate the Cerritos crew with a big send-off.
Finally, thank you for always being so creative and joyful, for filling convention halls and chanting
LOWER DECKS!" We remain hopeful that even beyond Season 5, Mariner, Boimler, Tendi, Rutherford and the whole Cerritos crew will live on with new adventures.

Star Trek: Lower Decks is an animated comedy series that focuses on the support crew serving on one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos. The crew residing in the “lower decks” of the U.S.S. Cerritos includes Beckett Mariner, voiced by Tawny Newsome; Brad Boimler, voiced by Jack Quaid; D'Vana Tendi, voiced by Noël Wells; and Sam Rutherford, voiced by Eugene Cordero. The Starfleet characters that comprise the U.S.S. Cerritos’ Bridge crew include Captain Carol Freeman, voiced by Dawnn Lewis; Commander Jack Ransom, voiced by Jerry O’Connell; and Doctor T’Ana, voiced by Gillian Vigman.
The series is produced by CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, CBS Studios’ animation arm; Secret Hideout; and Roddenberry Entertainment. Executive producers include Alex Kurtzman, Mike McMahan, Aaron Baiers, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth. Titmouse, the Emmy Award-winning independent animation production company, serves as the animation studio for the series.

Went back and binged the first few eps. Still funny. Perhaps even funnier now because I know and luv the characters more. This remains my favorite Trek now. It delivers the escapism and humor that I crave nowadays.

Tendi’s genetic experiment - The Dog - is still uproariously funny and I hope we get to see Section 14 and the Farm in live action someday.

I’m on S1e7. Still luvin this show - the best of present day ST.

Finished s1 rewatch. Forgot about the Riker Troi cameo was fun. The origin of Badgey & Peanut Hamper is explained. Solid 1st season conclusion .

Started S2 rewatch. I’m astounded how much of this I’ve forgotten. Keeps it fresh tho.

Memories don’t stick to me as well as they used to. It’s like my brain is full or I’ve just gotten lazy with internet access. Whatev. At least it makes this rewatch feel funny and fresh.

This is about as far as I’ve gotten with the rewatch. It remains one of my fav eps.

The final season starts next week. Not going to get through the previous seasons in time but oh well…

I got through S1&2, skipped 3 and watched the finale double ep of 4 just now. I’m ready for the final frontier season. Tomorrow the season premiere is a double ep, and e2 looks like it’ll be about Tendi & Orion. LD has expanded Orion lore, elevated it from the sex kitten caricature that it’s been previously.

The final season

E1 was a rift to a parallel Cerritos but one that was only deviant by like .03%. The alternate Mariner was hilarious, complete with riding crop (a reference to an earlier ep when Captain Freeman got offered another command.
E2 was Tendi resolving her Orion issues and returning to the Cerritos. Swordfights! Because lots of ST aliens still use bladed cold weapons. Meanwhile another planet develops replicators and abolishes capitalism which was weirdly funny and timely. It’s something that the entire franchise grappled with but how the transition went has never been explored until now. It was a funny concept.

A strong season opener but no allusion to this being the end yet…
