Ach. Knee. One of the shreds of my meniscus shifted and is blocking the range of motion on my left knee. Tylenol, found a meh knee brace at the main train station drug store. Flying home tomorrow anyway. Pretty happy I made it this far on generally ok knees.
Talk to doc when I get home; arthroscopic may be in my near future.

Funny Story.
Did I push against the pain to do my walks? Yes. Did it hurt? Somewhat. Did my knee give out when i was farthest from the house as I navigated a steep little spot of steps? Also yes? Did I fall? Yes. Did I bleed? Definitely. I even said ow many, many times as I lay there in the burr filled weeds.
I did actually think I could walk back up the steep hill the half mile to the house. The knee said no. It said no about a lot of things. Don't move. Don't get up. Just sit here in the dirt. Fortunately, I was able to text the Queen to come and get me. Fortunately, I had a set of crutches in the garage which I used to get from the car to the house. I now have an icepack on the knee (The Queen insisted against my stubbornness) and I'm contemplating taking the whole bottle of ibuprofen. Good thing I did this today because the Queen leaves tomorrow for a week.
Am I angry? Yes. Stupid body.

I did not hit my head. I bled from the bad knee. I might have had a touch of shock once I got home as the adrenaline departed. Not a fan. Basically, my left leg went out from under me when it decided no longer to support me. My left knee scraped along the ground.

I'm probably late to the party on this one, but life is a pain in the ass when you can only use the one leg. Good thing tQ is here to wait on me. At least for another 24 hours.

Having only one arm sux too. I've been trying to channel Jimmy Wang Yu's One-Armed Swordsman to little avail.
I've lost a lot of strength in my left arm, not that there was much there to begin with. On top of the shoulder/amr pain, the dog bite has healed well, only it's itchy. That kept trying to get infected so I've been changing the dressing twice a day.
I pften say 'Death will come to me from the left' because that is my weaker side. Whenever I get sick, it starts in my left nostril (adnoid to be specific). I collapsed my left lung. Now this. The MRI shows more compaction on my right side, but only my left side hurts. Maybe my doc got the image flipped.

I'm thinking of going to the doctor's office. Crazy, I know. In anticipation of that, I called Kaiser's Help desk to see if I could see someone in urgent care in Oakhurst rather than make the journey to Big Kaiser. The first hold portion was about fifteen minutes. That clerk told me I really should talk to the advice nurse. Oddly, that is who i thought I was waiting for. Nope. The clerk put me on hold for another 35 minutes. When the advice came on after the interminable wait, I accidentally hit the disconnect button. It was a brutal end to a long day.
Fortunately, the advice nurse called me back, although I did have to race across the house on crutches to get to the landline. My cel phone doesn't accept numbers not in the contact list. I will be speaking to my own doctor this morning at 8:30 to figure out where to go from here. I'm pretty sure the where is Big Kaiser.
I'm hoping for a miracle at this point. The Queen leaves tonight and at the moment I can do very little without her aid including feeding myself or the animals. The pain is a tad less after a night of uncomfortable sleep but I still can't put much weight on my left leg.

It just seems rude, that when I was getting out of bed this morning, I had a cramp in my left leg.

I'm going to little Kaiser in Campbell on Monday for a physical. My brother-in-law's death made it look like a good idea.

I was just at little Kaiser in Scott’s valley picking up some new meds. They’re in the tryptomine family so I’m excited to see how it goes tonight.

And the answer is : They don't know. According to the x-rays there is no damage. The most likely cause of the pain is a partial meniscus tear, which will probably smooth itself out. I'm to keep doing what I'm doing. Ice. Ibuprofen. Crutches.

Typical.
No PT? No drugs? You need to act like it hurts.
Any good chiropractors over there? They are much better at such matters.
