Beasts Clawing at Straws (2020)[South Korean] by Kim Yong-hoon

[seen on Kanopy]

One of those "briefcase full of loot" movies, where it's discovered or sought by various parties and who knows who (if any) will prevail.

Normally I don't like this sort of movie.  People are often reduced to simplistic selfish caricatures being taught a simple moral lesson.  But for this one, well, there's a lot of people is desperate need of that money.  It would totally transform their lives.  So the dogged pursuits strike me as legit.  Also, this is Korean at its best, deftly plotted, complex, unpredictable, full of colorful characters--just all-around well-done.

Still, it's just a "briefcase full of loot" movie.  But if you're in the mood, it's one of the best of that trope.

Still pondering the title.  Maybe I needed to be Korean...
