...yeah, right. I tell them I gotta get myself on the list first. They respond by saying, 'well, what about me?'

Tix are averaging $2K. It's like $200 just to get a parking lot ticket.

Only a few of my friends scored tix and I know some srsly core deadheads.

You'll be passing through the shadow of Devil's Tower, I presume.

Sounds very exciting. Look forward to reading your accounts.

I catch a red eye on Thursday, have tix for Friday and Sunday, then fly back late Monday. And I will be at work on Thursday and Tuesday. And you know, I still haven't caught up from SNWMF

My biggest sadness is that Tara won't get to experience the Grateful Dead. It would probably solve a lot of mysteries she has about her parents. But more so, she loves the music scene and would have had a great time.

I now have tickets for all three shows, promised to me from very trusted friends who I will meet in Chi-town. Friday and Saturday are at cost. Sunday is a miracle ticket.

A bunch of my friends plan to catch a Cubs game on Friday before the show against the Marlins. It would be really weird to bookend my final Dead run with baseball games. ED, you've been to all the baseball games I've been to in the last two decades. But I know how fond tQ is of those Cubs so I might go.

Or I might hit the Art Institute just to see their highly reputed Arms and Armor collection.

Either way, there's a deep dish pizza slice in my near future.

The haystacks in the impressionist exhibit are great...and then there's the Chinese art collection. I took a Chinese Art History class at SJSU to fill out a last credit so I could graduate. I was writing a paper on some tomb guardians which took me forever to finish and I ended up having to get an extension and finish over the summer. (I had a lot going on in my life at the time). By the end, I really hated the subject. When I was poking around the Art Institute years later, I ran into my nemesis:

tQ flies to Chicago on Friday. She will be attending a Cubs game, but the following week.

Not that kind of rendezvous...just a meet, greet and selfie over deep dish pizza or something.

I'm most likely going to opt for the Institute over Cubs because I'm a sophisticated art connoisseur. Okay, not fooling you all. It's because I love swords and couldn't really give a rats ass about baseball unless DOOM, Bruce Lee or Ray Park is involved. That's great advice, tg - thanks! I have issues with Tomb Guardians too. I discussed that in a long-winded piece I did about a trip to Shaolin over a decade ago now - see http://www.kungfumagazine.com/ezine/art ... rticle=580. I'll have to check that out.

Just a few more hours until take off.
