Amusing. A little overwhelming at first, but once it settled on a story line, it had it's moments. I was hoping it would capitalize on the different brands a little more. The Green Lantern/Superman and Star Wars shticks were funny. I would have enjoyed it more in 3D. I would really enjoy a 'making of' featurette. Everything is Awesome is Mark Mothersbaugh's best song in years. I can't remember if there was a sword fight or not. There were pirates, so there must have been some swords.
The Simpsons episode Brick Like Me should be viewed immediately after seeing the Lego Movie.

I thought I saw only snippets of this on the film so I was waiting for it to come out on DVD. While watching it, I realized I saw almost all of it on the plane. Seeing it again made me like it less. Watching it with droopy eyes made it much better.
I agree with DM about the Star Wars stuff. The pony stuff was worse on second viewing. Knowing the ending didn't help either.
I would definitely like to see a making of movie for this one. I suspect most of it is just CGI rather than hand animation.

Hmm, a story about a father coming to grips with his daughter growing older. I wonder why that would appeal to DM?
I think the Simpson story was much more succinct and poignant than the Lego Movie. And funnier.

Although FWIW, the Millennium Falcon scene made me laugh out loud. And it might have been better in 3D.

Ah, the millennium falcon. I laughed, too.
Just saw the 'Inside Lego' doc on Netflix. They sure make a lot of legos. But i also learned what Lego means. Look out Jeopardy.
