Just made my reservations for the first workshop of the season - I'll be flying in to Oakland on April 28th and staying at the Hilton Pleasanton at the Club. (All the airport meeting hotels were booked and/or didn't have the kind of meeting space I wanted.) I will have a car, though.

Un-Pleasanton, as we call it around here? I'm sorry. The car will be useful for getting to the TGIFridays for dinner. I hope you get miles and hotel-points. Pleasanton is every bit as exciting as San Bernadino, with almost as much meth.

I'll get hotel points. No miles -- I have to fly the dreaded Southwest Airlines instead of United, because they're the only ones who fly from Burbank nonstop to Oakland, and everyone else was both a one-stop and more than $300.

I arrive in Oakland just after lunch on the 28th; just need to check out the space and setup arrangements sometime before the banquet manager departs; then I'm probably free. So if anyone wants to meet up anywhere, just holler.

(I'm out for the speedballs, though. That probably goes without saying.)

Well, the trial was moved and you'd think - YOU'D THINK - the damn prosecution would let me know. But no. There I was, being a good citizen, responding to that subpoena, at court of Oakland this morning, only to be informed that it was a complete waste of my morning.

As I was waiting for my BART ride home, I remembered tQ was in town and thought it would have been nice to hook up, but I've got way too much on my plate this week and I'll see her soon anyway.

So, if tQ is in Pleasanton, PPFY is in Millbrae and yours truly is in Fremont, DOOM now controls 3/5ths of the END OF THE LINES for BART, the southern tentacles of the BART quintapus. Although does Millbrae really count? All they have is a stripey red and yellow line, like a barberpole/candycane and a dog with prostate issues in the snow...not like the pleasant blue of Pleasanton, nor the Eco-green and Giants-orange of Fremont... Can someone head up to Richmond & Pittsburg? It'll be more fun than dominating the forum here!

and FWIW, I won't be in town until after lunch on April 28th and won't be able to get away for lunch on the 29th or 30th -- I'll be stuck in my classroom from 7 AM until 6 PM. I can start drinking after 6.
