When you have a KitchenAid stand mixer, it feels like a real grownup moment. Like you now have the ultimate cheat sheet for whipping up baked goods. And then all of those attachments for making fresh pasta, spiralizing veggies and even ice cream? Well then you’re basically an Iron Chef. The thing about KitchenAid’s stand mixers is that while they’re quite the investment, they last forever. I’ve had mine for 20 years and that thing isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. 
I almost wish I had a reason to replace my stand mixer because the brand is shouting out everyone’s favorite amateur celebrity baker Taylor Swift with a limited-edition color that just screams The Life of a Showgirl. 
If you recall, last month KitchenAid teased a glittery orange stand mixer on Instagram as a nod to Swift’s next “era.” Fans responded with excitement, begging the brand to make this colorway a reality. 
“Two iconic brands,” said one person in the comments. “Now you all need to sell this orange glitter kitchen aid mixer for Black Friday just in time for Taylor and her Swifties to bake goodies for the holidays. I volunteer to be a Guinea pig for taste testing purposes.”
Well, it’s all happening … sort of. It won’t be available for purchase, but it is available to win as of Sept. 29. 

How to Get the Limited-Edition KitchenAid Tangerine Twinkle Stand Mixer 
Currently, there’s just one way to get the Tangerine Twinkle Stand Mixer, and it will only go to 12 people. Yes, 12 (the number is deliberate). It’s available via sweepstakes for fans at https://www.kitchenaid.com/countertop-appliances/showbiz. You can enter now through Oct. 3 at 11:50 p.m. ET.  
Since not everyone can win won of these Showgirl-esq stand mixers, KitchenAid is also offering virtual cooking classes of some of Swift’s favorite baked goods. There will be Pastry Pockets (think Pop Tart-like treats), Sourdough and Chai cookies. The classes are available on KitchenAid’s Instagram account. 
The brand is also offering $150 off their Artisan Series 5 Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer with Premium Accessory Pack from between Sept. 29 and Oct. 6. They do have some orange-hued appliances, like the stand mixer in Scorched Orange. It may not be glittery, but it still goes with The Life of a Showgirl color theme.

I watched way too many Taylor videos tonight. She’s releasing high production music vids alongside lyric vids which takes some imagery from the normal vids and kaleidoscopes them with lyrics and yes I watched both for many of them. 

The Fate of Ophelia reminds me too much of the Grateful Dead tune.

Those visualizer videos are not for me. I watched a couple and had to stop. On the flip side, Ophelia was much more interesting because it was an actual video. Context was given to the lyrics. And I get to hate Taylor more because she does a really good job with the direction and writing for them. Jealousy is a cruel beast.

Taylor has always done lyric videos because her lyricism is studied in college courses... her, Dylan and the Dead. Go figure. 

The visualizers are teasers playing upon the actual vids. It's a clever marketing strategy really. 2 for the price of 1. 

The ai visualizers for K-pop are crazy. 

And this video is great because of the sword fight. 


Ok, alright, crappy sword fight, but Taylor with a sword makes me think wood.

Vintage Monterey Bay Aquarium shirt worn by Taylor Swift inspires $1M fundraiser for sea otters

Swifties did a deep dive and traced Taylor's vintage shirt to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which brought it back as a fundraiser for their sea otter program. Here's how to get your paws on one of them:

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A vintage Monterey Bay Aquarium otter T-shirt has become an Easter egg for Swifties.
Taylor Swift wore the T-shirt in her movie "The Official Release Party of a Showgirl."
Swifties traced the shirt to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which brought it back as a fundraiser for the Aquarium's sea otter program.

Taylor Swift fans flood museum to see painting echoing 'The Fate of Ophelia' video
A German museum has been unexpectedly overrun by Taylor Swift fans

BERLIN -- BERLIN (AP) — A German museum has been unexpectedly overrun by Taylor Swift fans because one of its paintings bears a striking resemblance to the opening scene of Swift’s current number one hit video, “The Fate of Ophelia.”
Hundreds of additional visitors came to the Hessische Landesmuseum in central Germany over the weekend to admire the painting, with one family traveling from the northern city of Hamburg especially for the occasion, museum spokesperson Susanne Hirschmann told German news agency dpa on Wednesday. The museum could not immediately be reached. 
The Swifties’ goal: an Art Nouveau painting by Friedrich Heyser featuring Ophelia, Hamlet’s beloved in William Shakespeare’s play of the same name.
In the original play, Ophelia, a young noblewoman of Denmark, ultimately becomes mad and drowns. 
Heyser’s oil-on-canvas painting presents the figure of Ophelia clad in white and surrounded by white water lilies. The painting’s exact year of creation is not known but experts believe it dates back to around 1900.
In the opening scene of the video for the hit song “The Fate of Ophelia,” Swift slips into the role of Ophelia and becomes a living painting.
The scene shows similarities to the work of Heyser, museum director Andreas Henning told dpa. 
“We are surprised and delighted that Taylor Swift used this painting from the museum as inspiration for her video,” Henning said. “This is, of course, a great opportunity to attract people to the museum who don’t know us yet.” 
Despite the similarities, the museum in the city of Wiesbaden said it does not know for sure if the art work served as a template for Swift's song, which is currently a number one hit both in Germany and the United States.
Henning said the museum has already tried to contact the singer, but has had no success so far getting a hold of the world star.
“I would love to show Taylor Swift the original painting sometime,” he added.
