Seven days into a shoulder problem. Back in the '90s I had a partial rotator cuff tear from trying to bully a Guan Do. I've managed to deal with it up to now. But I've been playing a stupid Oculus game called In Death: Unchained. All archery. The repetetive use has given me an inflamed shoulder. Thought it would go away just resting it. Nope. Amazing what you can't do without a right shoulder. I open the microwave with my forehead. Can't reach anything on the right side of the bed, so I have to get up to turn lights on/off, or to fuss with the ResMed, or the get my glasses and a book. Doors are awkward. Cupboards too. Etc.
And sleep is tricky. Two ibuprofens almost allows it, after a time. To be repeated middle of the night. Dammit. Might need to get an MRI.

Hiking up and down the hill carrying heavy logs to the burn pile was not what my knee wanted. I will curtail my daily walk today at least to help it recover. Both the Queen and I are producing a chorus of groans around the house because of our actions on the hill.

I'm at the eye doctor. I'm having problems in my right eye. I made this appointment two months ago when the problems arose. This was the first available.
They did the Glaucoma eye pressure check. Normal range is 8-9. High would be 25. My right eye measured at 60. My left at 26. I now have three additional appointments including one with a Glaucoma specialist. Good times.

I'm sorry, G-Man. Are they talking about interventions, fixes, etc?
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

I'm seeing (ha!) a specialist at 11:30. It probably will be eye drops as a cure.

Oof. What’s the remedy for that now? It used to be cannabis but that has fallen under heavy dispute.

Two tests down. Waiting on the specialist. The last nurse was surprised I did the two tests so quickly and on the same day. My first doc must have been worried and hit the panic button. So, Yay?
They are pleased they caught it early. Usually people don't notice it at this point.

Woo-hoo! They're going to shoot lasers into my eyes next week if I can get the pressure down.

Double-plus oof. Is it painful? I mean as a general symptom, not when they shoot the lasers...

No pain. The eye just doesn't want to do eye things. They did query me about pain and I said no.
I'm home now with a big bottle of pills and two different sets of eye drops. The pills are supposed to make me nauseous and tired. The Doc said if it becomes too much, I can cut that down to one pill a day or even none. What if I don't want the Glaucoma ? The lasers are to widen the drainage ducts in my eyes.

Here is your new word the day. The treatment is called trabeculoplasty.
As for weed: Quote:Understanding how glaucoma works will help us see how weed affects glaucoma. Back in the 1970s, a team of researchers led by Robert Hepler found that marijuana could rapidly lower intraocular eye pressure. This offered temporary relief for people with open-angle glaucoma, and could even buy some time for those experiencing acute glaucoma. However, the effects were short-lived, and eye pressure levels would usually jump back after three hours – even before the munchies wore off.

I have two prescription eye drops to put in my eyes twice a day to help with the eye pressure. In the two days I've been putting in the drops I have learned that my cheeks have no fear of ever getting glaucoma.
