I want to see this. Brooks does good work. Probably not a lot of sword fights.

San Francisco, CA — November 28, 2025 — This Small Business Saturday, Focus Features is partnering with beloved local bookstores across San Francisco to celebrate community, reading, and the upcoming release of HAMNET, the highly anticipated film inspired by Maggie O’Farrell’s award-winning novel. The HAMNET book crawl invites readers to explore independent bookstores throughout the city on Saturday, November 29, with special giveaways available to early participants.

Each participating bookstore will offer the first ten visitors a HAMNET prize pack, including a copy of the novel, a custom tote bag, a bookmark, and a movie ticket to see HAMNET when it hits theaters this Thanksgiving weekend.

The HAMNET book crawl features 4 participating bookstores situated across different neighborhoods, ensuring that readers can take part no matter where they live in the city.

Participating bookstores:
  • Book Passage – One Ferry Building – 10:00am
  • Book Smith – 1727 Haight Street – 11:00am
  • Books Inc. – 601 Van Ness Avenue – 12:00pm-2:00pm
  • Green Apple Books – 506 Clement Street – 2:00pm – 4:00pm
HAMNET, directed by Academy Award® Chloé Zhao, brings to life Maggie O’Farrell’s poignant story of love, loss, and the roots of Shakespeare’s most enduring works. The film opens nationwide on Thanksgiving.
