I'm more broken than you

So after narrowly averting catastrophe by ridding myself of the mucus assault just prior to the holidays, I got a nice few weeks of rest, especially for my messed up right wrist. Last weekend, my wrist was feeling great. I was very pleased. Come Monday morning and I wake up and my wrist hurts like hell. It came back just in time for me to go to work. Dammit. Maybe it's a somatoform disorder in relation to work, but more likely I did it by scrubbing the carpet of Billy puke stains and then sketching Billy, both right-handed activities.
Now I'm back in a wrist brace. ![]() ![]()

Finally lost the toenail that I damaged on the Yosemite backpacking trip with DM. Yes, I blame DM. Why wouldn't I.
Where I lost it, I don't know. I just looked down and realized the blackened toenail was gone.

I'm glad there's one thing you do better.

Yesterday, I was dealing with a slight bout of neuropathy in my right foot. Neuropathy is one the Diabetes gifts. It happens. It's not that bad. Until I put on my trail shoes to go out and check on the concrete pour, then it felt like I had broken the toe next to the pinkie toe. Fortunately, it abated somewhat when I took of the shoes. But every time I would put the shoes on it would flair up.
As I watched TV later that night, I decided to pull off my sock and see if maybe it wasn't neuropathy and I had damaged the toe. As I pulled off the sock, I noticed my missing big toe toenail wedged into my other toe. The toe felt much better once I pulled the offending toenail out of it.

ew.
I have neuropathy in both hands. It makes my palms all tingly. Once, on Dead Tour, I got this growing pain on my index toe. It got worse and worse over the final weekend of that tour. After it was over, I finally got that post-tour shower epiphany, and cautiously examined my toe, thinking I'd need to go to the doctor the next morning. Turns out it was just a bit of dirt and it washed away. It was a wake-up call for tour hygiene for sure.

Now is probably a good time to share a story from my wife's client who is a nurse at the VA. She was examining a homeless man and asked him when he had his toes amputated. He was surprised by the question. She then shook them out of his boot.

I've heard that unexplicable injuries is a sign of addiction. But I've been very clean lately.
I've found a centimeter cut on on the pad of my right thumb. It's like a paper cut so it's possible that I didn't feel it when it happened because it was so fine. But my thumb is sensitive, so I'm bummed I missed it. It was sore for the last day, and I just noticed the tiny cut yesterday after my bath exposed it.

I'm sure a clean person wouldn't spell it unexplicable.

This is more likely a sign of alien abduction. For whatever reason, aliens are fascinated by human thumbs. They're always pulling them off, doing experiments, then putting them back on. Sometimes when putting them back on, they get them reversed. You might want to check for that. It can be hard to tell.

I was thinking ninjas.
Usually alien abduction leaves those hexagonal bruises around the genitals.
