Well that was fun. I did have the clam chowder which was a tad too salty at first but better once I dipped into my shot of West Cork.
CC does this thing where they take a riff from some other song and use it as the basis of their own song, which kinda bugs me because I’d rather hear the original. But it was good fun dancing with all the deadheads. Always good fun.

My pedometer clocked 6.2 miles on Sunday. All I did was walk to and from Yoga & the Crepe Place (both are less than a half mile away).
I love that my pedometer documents dancing as steps.

Another Halloween, another China Cats show at Vets Hall.
Walked through Ocean st & downtown otw. Insane scenes. Put Halloween on. Friday and Santa Cruz goes nuts. Super fun. China Cats promised to play an album. When they came out all dressed in white, everyone knew - it was Go to Heaven. Not one of my favs but it has Althea which I’m so into now thanks to T-Swizzle, Set break Dm went back to Pacific for more chicanery and treated himself to a coke bump (the soda - can’t even remember the last time he had a snort) and upped the chocomyc for good measure, then for 2nd set, ended up dancing with two K squirrels - Karen & Kristen - after which they cornered Dm and demanded that he strip (his mask); he complied despite it being against his Halloween protocol because K squirrels are hard to deny. Note that DM’s new finger light skeleton gloves didn’t even survive one CC set, but they were cheap so that’s to be expected. After the cats, dm went back to pacific for more chicanery and ended up bumping into the K squirrels twice - as Goldfinver sez 2nd is happenstance & 3rd is enemy action. The Halloween threesome ended up having drinks at Abbott square, people watching (saw a police action that ended peacefully), and chatting each other up about the dead scene. After that, Dm bid a gentlemanly good night and walked home for some nite cheese & glenfiddich, idly fantasizing about how the night could’ve been more of a trick than a treat, had another course been chosen. Happy Halloween.

Yeah. I went to Grateful Sunday. I mean it’s only $10 and a 4 block walk from our bungalow. It’s amazing that I don’t go every Sunday.
Super fun. Some deadhead gal recognized dm from when he stripped on Halloween and gave me props for keeping it on all night (that’s a thing with dm). Treated myself to a whiskey sour (the house is jaymo, which is fine for sours). First set had a lot of Joni Mitchell. Then an anthemic White Rabbit. 2nd set took off with a funky Rock Steady into Fire, wait there was something in between, super fun. I was right in front of Matt’s pick up, which was just off the stage to give him room. Dont have a meeting until 10 tomorrow so I have plenty of recovery time. 6,5 miles. I got home and the clock said 9:15!

@Woodhouse for a change - vets hall is staging SC Shakes A Xmas Carol. It’s a tight space for the deadheads. More peeps around my age than at the reggaes. 1st set was decidedly country - not my fav version of the dead but the dancing was wild. I got here after it started so began at the back & worked my way up. It’s break and I’m front of stage now.
Kinda trippin on the day. A few hours ago, it was cosplay. Now Cruz deadheads. Tomorrow is Yuki care, yoga, naps, & writing up FXSF.

2nd set was stronger. The was an infectious Scarlett then later a resonating Throwing which took a hairpin into an equally resonate GDtRFB. I started on stage right but quickly got danced to the middle a few rows back and eventually ended up back towards the back. Some deadhead chick that I was dancing next to gave me a big hug and said ‘great to see you. I’m glad you’re here.’ Don’t know who she was but I’m guessing she was a little older than me. Ended with a surprising Sing me back home, which also resonated. Those dead lyrics are still hitting hard.
Got home by 10:15. Drank an electrolyte drink and a goodly shot of whiskey. Still got some post show glow and don’t have to get up until yoga at 10:30 so maybe I’ll TikTok for a bit or just surf for FXSF stuff.
