I totally spaced out looking.

Our Kung Fu in is Lateef Crowder. He's the stunt man behind Mando's fights. And he gets the 3rd credit!

Crowder was part of Zero Gravity, a local stunt team, one of the early ones, that came out of the Bay Area. We did some shoots with Zero Grav, but I don't think he ever came to KFMHQ. Patrick thinks he did. My cosplaying friend Lianne was connected to that group. She would've been my guest if Patrick bailed. But she's part of the Mando chapter here and they all got in because they were cosplaying.

Not going to Scapino it. But I will say this:

It's a rollicking rollercoaster ride. Great action. Bladerunner moshed up with Lone Wolf and Cub, with some John Wick and Fast and Furious tossed in. Zeb is great - totally loyal to Rebels. Mando is cool as ever and delivers a solid complex one-er early while raiding an imperial walker. Dragonslayer,, kaiju fights, fire fights, X-wing battles (Go Appa! Go Ripley!), double axes, gladiator action, double short swords vs double kama, so much action.

And Grogu is cute as ever.

Total D00M recommendation. It's fun.

Day after thoughts...

I'm always a bit tentative going to screeners for KFM where there might not be much Kung Fu. For this one, we had an angle in with Lateef. And wow - did it pay out. So much Kung Fu. Mando fu. Grogu fu. Even Hutt Sumo.

Ultimately, this film doesn't affect the Star Wars canon that much, except for what happens to the Hutt crime syndicate. It's just a fun romp in a galaxy far far away. Simple escapist fun.
