e4 made me chuckle because it dug into the relationship between mariner and capt freeman, who is her mother. the mother/daughter thing was hilarious, especially so because i'm at my mom's now, and she did one of those mom things just tonight. i got her some flowers for her birthday and when i trimmed them, i tossed the stems into the food waste bin. she insisted they go in the yard waste bin and at one point, pulled them out of the food waste bin to transfer them. moms.

E5 was amusing with a mildly amusing twist for Boimler.
E6 began with Dr T’ana getting her face shoved in nachos and then complaining about how hard it is to get cheese out of fur. It’s good to know that Star Fleet replicators still have nachos.
I’m enjoying the show for what it is. It’s funny enough and so packed with Easter eggs that it pleases any trekker.

Guess who just got Paramount+?
e7 - The return of Lt. Erikson's race - luv the way this show is bringing the animated series (hugely underrated) into canon. The Dog was awesome (and reminded me faintly of Yuki).
e8 - The Q cameo got a genuine LOL. And a Gorn wedding!

e9 was a ST:TMP spoof and they nailed it, right down to the gratuitous ship shots, parodied Horner soundtrack, an ridiculous lens flares.
e10 - season finale - some major throwbacks to Landru (the premise is that the Cerrito covers '2nd contact') and a well played cameo from Riker and Troi. Plus a major character death and a crew twist that will have to play out in S2.
August 2 - 10 more eps.
For trekkers, this show is a joy.
Now to beam over to Discovery...

S2e1: Throwbacks to Gary Mitchell and four lights, plus more Riker. Still funny and short. I’m not sure they could sustain it for more than a half hour per Ep. I wonder if it’s funny for non-trekkers... eh, who cares about them?
Lots of shots to the nuts. That was an uncomfortable yet funny theme of tonight’s viewing.

That would almost work. The Cerritos is a loser Federation vessel. They do '2nd contact' missions and muff them all the time.

I'm just quoting from the master.
