LIVE OAK, Calif. —
A loose emu was reported running in and out of traffic near Harper Street and 17th Avenue, prompting multiple calls to the California Highway Patrol, the agency said.
CHP-Santa Cruz said in a social media post that the calls came in a couple of days ago. The emu’s owner arrived shortly afterward, and officers safely corralled the bird.
CHP thanked the people who called to report the emu and help responders handle the unusual situation
