(Yesterday, 12:12 AM)Drunk Monk Wrote: YMAA is off today but I’m swapping it to work for a later day this month when I go to sdcc. BayCon starts today in Santa Clara and I might need over tonight because there’s a press pass waiting for me there. I went back in 2008 because it was after our TCEC and earthquake benefit and in the same Santa Clara convention center. LCF was part of a writers panel and convinced me I should get a press pass, just to check it out. She walked me through the hotel rooms where clusters of cosplayers had gathered according to their franchise. The Klingon room looked fun. One of Gaugler’s students was teaching there (Gary?) He recognized me, but it took me moment.
I remember finishing the night dancing with some romulan gsls. That was fun.
BayCon...that's a name I have not heard in a long time...my sister got me in for free ages ago when it was held at the Dunfey Hotel. My job was to be security for some scale model judging. I ended up standing at the door for several hours. Don't remember much about actual BayCon...
