This movie is ultravi at its finest. Miao Xie is so good in this, delivering high impact action with every fight. He still leans heavily into one shot/one move fight choreo, however this movie has several decent dozen+ move complex oners against multiple opponents. The two fights that stand out are the bathroom fight and the fight in the car (although not Xie).
Li Hongji returns, now having dating issues as he works his way through some awkward blind dates. He spots track marks on one, and quickly traces her to a human trafficking gang. He is reunited with some of his orphan family, and one of the brothers is in deep with the gang. Li beats the crap out of everyone.
Beyond the top notch ultravi, this franchise is good with its depiction of modern China and its cold calculating villains. There's not as much eating in this one and a lot more violence.
You do not have to see the first one to get this one. While they are connected, there's not much carry over.
Totally D00M recommended, especially for ultravi luvin yetis.
