I'm swapping emails with Laurie again. I did a review of her show back before the pandemic that was highly relevant to Kung Fu. The review is now 6 years after the fact, but I could not resist running it again. She sent me her mailing address, which is the same as it was before (studio on Canal). She says we need to get together again next time she's in SF.
Of all my celebrities friends, Laurie trips me out the most. I'm such a fan that I must really exercise a lot of self control with her. I was addicted to her videos and music in high school. Her art opened my mind to alternative perspectives and difficult listening. I pitched doing an interview about our mutual love of guandao. I can't wait to see her again.
